Backbends and the Anatomy of the Spine (Online: Zen Place, Japan)

Does your lower back feel cranky in backbends? Or maybe your neck twinges when you take your head back in camel pose? Come learn why and, more importantly, what to do about it!

Learning the anatomy of the spine will help you understand why the lower back and neck often feel vulnerable in backbends. It’ll also enable you to better prep the spine for these postures so that they feel more accessible and easeful.

This online workshop will begin with a brief anatomy lesson in which you’ll discover the regions of the spine and how the bony structures of the spine differ from region to region. Then we’ll share an asana practice so that you can put the lessons you’ve learned into action.

Come learn how to backbend with greater joy and less discomfort!

This workshop will take place December 7, 19:30-21:00 Japan time and will be translated into Japanese.
