Do you want to:
Add variety to your yoga practice?
Build strength, especially upper body strength?
Hear bad puns on “wait/weight”?
If so, this workshop is for you. We’ll add hand weights to a variety of classic yoga poses, plus incorporate them into some out-of-the-boxana moves.
In order to build strength, we need to progressively add load. That gets tricky to do in yoga, because we’re working with body weight. There are indeed ways to increase load in yoga. For example, we can add load by holding poses longer, but who wants to hold plank for minutes on end? Adding hand weights to your yoga practice is an efficient, effective, and economical way to build strength. And MOVING is way more fun than going to the gym and counting reps.
Suggested equipment for October: 1 pair of light-medium weights (2-3 lbs.), 1 heavier weight (@5 lbs.), 1 yoga block. All exercises can be done with just one set of light or medium weights. Shampoo bottles or rocks from your garden work wonderfully.
$25 secures your spot in this live Zoom workshop, plus you’ll get a 7-day replay and a short, post-workshop self-massage video. Registration is also available for the workshops taking place Saturday 11/14 and 12/12.
