A 30-hour anatomy and asana course for teachers and curious practitioners

PRACTICAL | APPLICABLE | FUN! (YES, ANATOMY CAN BE FUN)

Did the anatomy taught in your 200-hour teacher training adequately equip you to read bodies, address students’ questions, and help students working with various physical conditions? All too often, TT anatomy is insufficient, glossed over, or dry as dust and not practically applicable.

This 30-hour anatomy and asana course will deepen your understanding of body mechanics during yoga practice. It will reinforce and supplement the fundamental anatomy covered in many 200-hour teacher trainings—but you needn’t enter the program with prior anatomy instruction. All curious movers are welcome!

Yoga students will gain an enhanced comprehension of the body that they can use to inform their personal practice. Teachers will hone their observation skills and their understanding of anatomical variations and how to modify postures to suit individual needs.

During our sessions we’ll explore movement activities to illustrate and complement the anatomy we’re studying—so prepare to move! This is not 30 hours of sitting and note-taking! We’ll apply the anatomy lessons to classic yoga asana, so the coursework will inform your yoga practice and teaching in direct, practical ways.
